New Google Pixel 3 video reveals Active Edge display, new colour variants
Google Pixel 3 is set to launch on October 9 at an event in New York and the company has released a new video of the phone for Japan which also happens to be one of its launch locations for this year. The teaser video confirms some of the rumoured colour variants of the phone as well as the return of a Google Pixel 2 feature.The video has been added to the Google’s teaser page for Japan which confirms that the phone will launch in the country. The video nearly confirms the presence of Active Edge display feature that debuted on Google Pixel 2. Active Edge feature allows the phone to launch apps, or dismiss alarm or trigger any action when the user squeezes the phone. Users can also customise the settings so that the feature triggers only those actions that they want. HTC brought the feature first with U11 and later it was added by Google to Pixel and Pixel 2 XL.The Active Edge feature was earlier also rumoured for the Pixel 3 but now the video almost confirms the coming of the feature. The feature could come with additional level of controls than the Pixel 2. The video also hints towards new colour variants of the new Pixel 3 such as White, Black, Pink, Yellow, Blue and Green.Google is going to launch the third generation of Pixel phones on October 9. The upcoming Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL are expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset and single rear camera. The Pixel 3 is said to come with a single selfie camera while the Pixel 3 XL could sport dual cameras on the front. Both the Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL are rumoured to feature 12-megapixel sensor with an aperture of f/1.8, dual pixel PDAF and laser-assisted auto focus.advertisementThe Google Pixel 3 is said to come with a 5.4-inch OLED display while the Pixel 3 XL is expected to come with a 6.2-inch OLED display. The phones are confirmed to come with latest Android 9 Pie. The phones could be powered by Snapdragon 845 and come in two storage variants.
