49 Coaches for CAF License A Course

first_imgThe Liberia Football Association is sponsoring one month CAF License A course that begins on Wednesday, May 27 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia.According to CAF Education Officer, Francis Tamba, 49 License B coaches are expected to participate.“Participants must have a minimum qualification,” Tamba said, “which is they must have a record of work for the last two years as coaches.”He explained that any interested coach without the required minimum two years of active coaching would not be allowed to take part in the course.He said the seminar is being sponsored by the LFA and therefore the participants will not have to pay to take the course.The course, he said, will involve 15 days preparation and 30 days examination, which will include but not limited to sports sociology, exercise physiology, the laws of the game and power-point presentations.“There will also be written and oral presentations as well as theory and practical application of lessons learned during the one month period,” Tamba said.He told the Daily Observer yesterday that he would supervise the preparation, along with LFA Technical Director Henry Browne.“After the preparation the 30 days examination will be handled by someone selected by the Confederation of African Football,” Tamba added.He explained that it is a high level course that involves the accumulation of 380 hours of course’s work by the coaches.“A coach who participates in this course in the end must know football in its entirety,” Tamba said.Both coaches Tamba and Browne are senior CAF instructors, and are part of an elite group of professionals that CAF uses to conduct training and examinations of coaches in the various levels of their development throughout Africa.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img
