Market Force is one to watch says Azan
Top trainer Richard Azan has high hopes for his entry MARKET FORCE in today’s 43rd running of the 2000 Guineas, grade one stakes, for native bred three year old at Caymanas Park. Azan said the colt’s Monday Morning Trophy win on March 29 was a good indication that he has made improvement despite being on a four-month lay off, and he is hoping the lightly raced colt can make that next step up today. “He’s a top contender and one to watch. He ran a nice race the other day (Monday Morning trophy) which he won, and since that race he has been working pretty good,” he stated. “It’s the first time he will be running against these (quality) horses, so it’s going to be stiff competition but I am hoping he can step up to the plate,” Azan added. Azan also believes his filly, MONEY MAGNET stands a good chance in the 1000 Guineas. “I am hoping she can win of course, but let’s see what happens. She showed in her last race (beaten a head by She’s A Maneater) that she is a good quality horse, and so far she is doing okay. So she will be right up there,” he declared.
