  • Dzeko one Step from the Transfer, Chelsea and Roma agreed on the Price

first_imgThe captain of the national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Roma striker, Edin Dzeko, has been actively linked with the transfer to London’s “Chelsea” for seven days, and the his fate, according to the Italian media, should be known in the next 24 hours.“Tuttomercatoweb” reports that Dzeko will be left out of the Roma starting lineup for the match with Sampdoria on Wednesday, adding that Radja Nainggolan, Patrik Schick and Gregoire Defrel will be the strikers.Eusebio Di Francesco, the Roma coach said on the Tuesday’s press conference that everyone counts on the best striker of Serie A from the last season, and that he will be part of the starting lineup for the match in the third round of Italian Cup, unless the situation with his transfer does not change until then.Renowned Gianluca Di Marzio has revealed yesterday that Chelsea and Roma have agreed on the price of a 50 million (plus ten million in bonuses) for the transfer of Emerson Palmieri and Edin Dzeko, and adds that the only thing left is that the BH striker agrees with the London club about the conditions, which the Brazilian player has already done. The biggest problem in negotiations between the two sides can be the fact that Chelsea has not signed up contracts in duration of several years with players older than 30 in the past, including legends like Lampard, Drogba and Terry, but some English media have said that Dzeko could get a two-year contract who will connect him to the club by 2020, which he would agree to.It should be noted that Chelsea has tried to bring Dzeko to its team in the past, more precisely at the time when Jose Mourinho was Chelsea’s manager, and Edin player of the Manchester City, but there was no final agreement among them at the end.Besides Dzeko, who is currently really close to getting Chelsea jersey, England’s current Champion showed interest for Ashley Barnes from Burnley, Marko Arnautovic from West Ham, and the English media went so far that they even connected Peter Crouch with the club from Stamford Bridge. What was known earlier, the first potential candidate of Roman Abramovich was the West Ham’s striker, Andy Carrol, whom Conte did not want in his team, and because of the new injury, the Englishman was not an option for a potential reinforcement anymore. • GARDAI APPEAL TO BUSINESS OWNERS TO LOCK VALUABLES IN SAFE FOLLOWING RAID

first_imgOne of Donegal’s leading Gardai has warned business owners including jewellers that they may need to lock valuables in safes.Supt Vincent O’Brien made the warning after a raid on McCullagh’s Jewellery store in the Letterkenny Shopping Centre.Thieves got in through the roof of an adjoining shop and then broke their way through a partition in the jewellery shop. Once inside the gang drilled holes into display cabinets and escaped with several thousand euro worth of necklaces and rings.Gardai are not ruling out the possibility that the raid is linked to another break-in to the Cameo Jewellery shop in Donegal Town eight weeks ago.Supt O’Brien said “Most likely there was a market for this and it could be on its way out of this country altogether.“We are asking people who have valuables on the premises at night when they are locked up to leave them in a safe,” he said. He again appealed for witnesses to Monday morning’s heist in Letterkenny to come forward.Gardai are particularly anxious to speak to taxi-drivers in the area around 4am to contact them.Follow us on www.twitter.com/donegaldailyFollow us on www.facebook.com/donegaldaily GARDAI APPEAL TO BUSINESS OWNERS TO LOCK VALUABLES IN SAFE FOLLOWING RAID was last modified: April 4th, 2012 by StephenShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:GardaiHEISTSupt Vincent O’Brienlast_img read more

  • Future of Computers Lies in Harnessing DNA Circuitry

first_imgAccording to EurekAlert, researchers at University of Minnesota are making progress using DNA molecules for information storage and processing.  A DNA scaffolding that is being studied has the potential to hold information “1,000 times as densely as the best information processing circuitry and 100 times the best data storage circuitry now in the pipeline.”This would be a good time to review the information storage capacity of DNA, as described here 08/16/2002.(Visited 12 times, 1 visits today)FacebookTwitterPinterestSave分享0last_img read more

  • Ohio Ag Weather and Forecast — October 27, 2017

first_imgShare Facebook Twitter Google + LinkedIn Pinterest We have a nice finish to the week here today. Another cool start over the state, but in general we see sunshine as a big player through the day. Winds have shifted to the southwest, so that will help moderate temps a bit.Our next front is on the way for tomorrow. Rains will range from .25” to .5” over about 80% of the state, although we may have to allow for slightly higher totals (up to .75”??) in Darke, Shelby and Preble counties, an offshoot of some of the better rains coming out of Indiana overnight tonight into early tomorrow morning. But, in general, these will be fairly gentle, easily used showers. They should be done by late afternoon or evening. It will be mostly dry to finish the weekend Sunday, and that dry stretch continues through next Tuesday. A minor upper level disturbance dragging across the Great Lakes may push a few clouds down into northern parts of the state late Monday afternoon and Monday night, but this is not a concern at this time. We are looking for three complete dry days in-between systems. That puts our next system in here still on Wednesday, and the moisture likely lingers into Thursday. The bulk of our .1” to .7” rains come Wednesday, but we can see a few hundredths to a tenth or two of the complete total come with hit and miss stuff on Thursday. Coverage will be about 80% of the state. Cooler air rushes in behind. The map above shows one week rain totals that includes the front for tomorrow and the front for midweek. The remainder of the week looks good. Dry weather returns for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. However, our next front is churning things up off to the west next Sunday, so do not be surprised if clouds start to push in through the day. At this point, we are leaving the arrival of that next strong frontal complex out of the 10-day window, pushing it back into the extended period. Overnight next Sunday night into Monday the 6th, we likely see our first wave of showers, and then a second wave comes for the night of the 6th into the 7th. All told, that system could bring .5” to 1.5” of rain over 90% of the state. It will be a significant rain maker, slow field work once again. The remainder of the extended period looks dry, with sunshine and seasonable temps for the 8th through the 11th.last_img read more

  • EcoVillage at Ithaca Plans a Passivhaus Branch

first_imgThe online directory of the Cohousing Association of the United States lists more than 240 cohousing projects. Some of them are still forming. Some, under the auspices of umbrella groups, are established but have not yet secured building sites. Many others were completed long ago, a few are now being retrofitted, and some are even expanding. One such veteran cohousing community, EcoVillage at Ithaca, in central upstate New York, completed a 30-unit neighborhood in 1996, another 30-unit neighborhood in 2004, and now is planning a third, called Third Residential EcoVillage Experience, or TREE, that will add 40 more units to the community, including at least 25 homes that the development team aims to build to the Passivhaus standard.Eight of the 40 units will be constructed as duplexes (the community’s existing homes are all duplexes), 17 will be detached homes, and 15 units will be built into a common house that will serve as the neighborhood’s centerpiece. Construction is expected to begin next year, with the last units completed in early 2013.Small homes, small pricesEcoVillage has long supplemented its energy needs with photovoltaic power, and TREE likely will be no different. But even those units not built to the Passivhaus standard probably won’t be energy guzzlers: the homes will range from 450-sq.-ft. studios to 1,440-sq.-ft. four-bedrooms.The project team also is striving for affordability, with prices ranging from $80,000 for a studio to $235,000 for a four-bedroom. As noted in a recent article published by the Ithaca Journal, the village has explored working with the National Affordable Cohousing Organization, which could purchase some of the units from the village and make those units affordable as rentals.“We will be the first place in the Americas that will have three cohousing communities and one of the only ones in the world,” EcoVillage Executive Director Liz Walker told the paper. “At every step, we are doing pioneering work and that is part of what makes this all so special. Every day, there is something new.”last_img read more

  • Misbah asks politicians to end Indo-Pak cricketing logjam

first_imgPakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq believes only political intervention can lead to a resumption of bilateral cricketing ties with India and open the doors for his country’s players in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) and Champions League Twenty20. Pakistan Captain Misbah-Ul-Haq says political intervention can revive bilateral seriesIn an interview to Pakistani TV channel Geo Super, the batsman said he found it frustrating that cricket ties are getting affected because of politics. “I don’t think it is in the hands of players or cricket authorities as far as Indo-Pak cricket ties are concerned. I think politics decides ties between the two countries. And only political intervention can lead to a resumption of bilateral ties,” he said. Misbah said it was unfortunate that Pakistan, despite being a top cricket nation, was not being allowed to play in the IPL.      “It does irritate you. But one can’t do anything. Relations between the two countries are always dictated by political issues.”  The Test and ODI captain also stressed on the need for resumption of regular bilateral ties with India.  “Playing India is very important for us from a cricketing and financial point of view. The more we play against each other, the more mature the audiences will also become. There is always something special about playing against India and the players do miss contests against them,” he said. “As such there has been no tensions between players we sit together and we get along. But when we play obviously there is great pressure on both sides because of the hype and expectations that come from a Indo-Pak match,” Misbah added. Misbah made it clear he had no clear time-line in his mind about retiring from the game. The 37-year-old player said he would continue to play as long as he was fit and able to do justice to his team.  “I don’t want to hang around preventing some young player from coming in. The day I feel enough is enough and I am not doing justice I will quit. I am only going on in international cricket because at my age I am still passionate about the sport and see playing at the top level as a big challenge.”  Misbah advocated the formation of a players’ union as he feels it can help reduce the controversies that plague the Pakistani team.  “A players association with the right people in place can do a lot in Pakistan cricket. It can improve communication between players, management and board. It can educate and guide players on contentious issues. It can lead to a reduction in the controversies and scandals that hit Pakistan cricket.”  With inputs from PTI. advertisementlast_img read more
